Planning a stocktake
As soon as you have determined the time period for your inventory count, our experts will support you with further planning and advise you on the selection of suitable barcode scanner rentals. When designing your inventory process, benefit from the numerous tried and tested functions that are already included in the standard scope of our stocktaking software based on the various requirements of our customer projects. Our inventory management solutions, powered by COSYS Solutions and the COSYS WebDesk with a graphical user interface, support you in managing and controlling inventory counts, importing final data, and seamlessly transferring results to your ERP system. You decide whether you want to operate the backend in our COSYS Cloud or in the classic “on premise” way on your own server or laptop.
Provision of barcode scanner and stocktaking software
As soon as the development and testing phase for the stocktaking software has been completed and the stocktaking is due to take place at your company, we prepare all the rented mobile computer or you with your stocktaking app and the required configuration (pre-assignment of static header data such as branch/location, storage of the WLAN profile, etc.). We then deliver the entire mobile stocktake equipment ready for use to your head office or, on request, directly to the branches and locations (usually at least 2-3 days before the start of the inventory count) and our service staff set up the inventory backend for you on your inventory laptop, your own server or in the COSYS Cloud via a remote connection.
Implementation of the inventory management service
Once all the barcode scanner have been distributed to the inventory assistants, the individual count places can be captured and the areas recorded by the inventory scanner can be transferred to the COSYS backend, where you can manage your entire inventory and combine all the inventory data recorded and transferred by the inventory scanner. Check the counted and uncounted areas, print inventory count lists for rechecking and recounting the counted areas or cancel individual counts in order to re-capture them. During the entire stocktaking process, you can rely on our competent support team at all times to assist you by telephone and remote maintenance or, by arrangement, on site.
Completion of the stocktake
After you have captured your complete inventory with our mobile computers and transferred it to the COSYS backend with the COSYS WebDesk for final post-processing, the inventory count is imported into your ERP system in any format. We already have many standard ERP inventory interfaces for scanners and mobile data capture devices, and as soon as your inventory count is complete, we will collect the barcode scanner rentals from your head office or the branches and stores.

For those new to mobile data collection: instead of pen and paper, data is captured via app on a barcode scanner – known as mobile computers. These devices scan item and count place barcodes, while the inventory software processes the data and ensures seamless integration with ERP systems or exports to standard formats.
Supply of mobile computers as part of the inventory management service
As part of the COSYS inventory service, we don’t just provide powerful inventory software – we also supply the necessary hardware. You can choose to rent or purchase barcode scanners and smartphones directly from us. Alternatively, if you already have devices, we offer professional repair services to ensure they're ready for use.

Rent
With around 4000 devices, our rental pool supports temporary needs. Ideal for short-term use without added tech effort. We supply tested hardware, delivered punctually to your locations—perfect if you already use inventory software.
A hardware purchase pays off long-term if used beyond stocktaking—e.g., in warehousing, transport, or retail. You gain independence and permanent mobile data access. We also accept your old devices as a down payment when upgrading.
The repair service is ideal if you have a large number of your own MDE devices. This ensures that all devices are ready for use on the day of the inventory. The COSYS repair service is reliable, cost-effective and fast.
If a rented inventory scanner breaks down during the inventory process, you will immediately receive a replacement device to avoid downtime and continue the inventory process without interruption.
